I received notice that my 1971-D Eisenhower was indeed the "Friendly Eagle" FS-901 Type 1 Reverse RDV-006 variety. What does the forum members think of him in comparison to the PCGS grade?

64?
Collector, occasional seller
very nice - I am thinking 65 or 66
64 the scratch above the one kills it for me.
The fields look good. Given the mark on the forehead, 65 seems tops with a 64+ being most probable. It is a terrific example and may get the benefit of any doubts
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
I say MS64. Solid 64, but not higher in my opinion.
Ike dollars are graded all over the place. Most have not been struck up enough to obliterate the heavy contact marks that were on the original planchet. Your coin is a perfect example - beautiful obverse fields and baggy as-made face (technically a gem). The revers has some discoloration and spots. I agree with the MS-64 opinions however, I'll bet this is in a 65 or 66 slab.
65 at least
My Guess 65 but those at 64 or 64+, have a pretty good case,
Nice coin. I'm shuffling through a bunch of Ikes at the moment. They really are a fantastic coin. I'd say 64, maybe 65, but there's no 66 in there. IMO.
I would say 64... that was my first assessment... and, after a bit of study, I still think 64. I do grade a bit critically...Cheers, RickO
Never heard of this variety till now. Always learning.

My apologies for my delay...
This is why I have my coins professionally imaged.

Very easy to spot. Look at the curved coastline in the Gulf of Mexico.
