Searching the web for a half dime variety and all along I already have it!

I've been working on the Liberty Seated Half Dime varieties recently, searching dealers & eBay for them. Tonight's target was the 1872-S MM Below MPD FS-302. As you'll see in the below pics the attribute is so, so minute, on such a minute coin, I thought maybe I should check my own 1872-S MM below.....just in case. I bought it some time ago before I started expanding my knowledge into the depths of the varieties.
Well sure enough there it was, inside a PCGS AU50 holder noted as coin # 4401 MM below, (unattributed FS-301), but I'm 110% positive it's coin # 510022 FS-302. It will soon be off to our host for variety attribution service, TrueView, and a new plastic condo.
For those unfamiliar with half dimes.... this little bump is extremely tiny!

Now I'll be shopping for a new FS-301!

Sweet!
It is nice when you find something in your own collection you need; especially the tough stuff.

It is a special feeling when you find a little treasure in the coins you already own. Congratulations... Cheers, RickO
