Question: Why So Few Prooflike Peace Dollars?

As a serious collector of Morgan Dollars in PL...my question is why there aren't similar quantities of PL Peace Dollars available? Is there a technical reason...such as how the dies were produced...or the striking pressure used...or something else?
I always found it odd...considering that the production of many other series,,,before, during, and after the Peace series...all generally threw off PL type specimens.
Any insights would be appreciated.

What @RogerB said. I have found the archives very informative on this sight and have used them many times.
