Just putting this out there....
When I coin roll search coins..mostly nickels, when I find a specimen that I want to keep maybe for grading or collection book, or for whatever...i discovered a slick way to protect my nickels temporally. As the pictures show, Walmart brand bottled water caps press fit nickels perfects. You get a pretty good buffer if you want to isolate a coin pronto. Now the lids I believe are HDPE.. which is High Density Polyethylene not PVC. I don't know if HDPE is toxic to nickels, but its what I use to isolate nickels quickly. Maybe super noob move, but works for me. If anyone has any advice on this practice...let me know! P.S. they fit quarter too!

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
hahaha
Ok, but can you get them back out without a screwdriver?
they pop out very easily. just pop them out...supper easy. no metal tools required....lol
That’s actually a really good idea. Sometimes I search rolls in my truck during work (lol) and if I find a keeper, I have to figure out where to put it.
Thank you!

easy way to shield a coin in any situation...
I used to keep 1964 and earlier nickels no matter what from roll searching. Does anyone else have a date cutoff that they will always keep them from? Funny thing is I held on to them for years and one day got sick of looking at them and cashed them in with my change jar.
i have hundreds of nickels from 39 to 59 and when I reach 2000 cash in 100 bucks sweet
very clever!
thx!.
May as well skip saving 64 dated nickels
Ain't that the truth. They are everywhere.
64 nicks are super abundant!
Instead of cashing them in why not sell them?
I sell rolls of pre-1960 for 7-8 dollars.
People will buy them.
Have you been able to laser cut full steps on a 60-d yet?
Hope you're not using your bare thumb to press them in.................

A quarter will also fit nicely into a cap, above the inner rim but below the bottom most rim.
That is a great temporary protection method...caps do vary in size, I checked some others I have and they were not snug fitted.... Thanks for the suggestion. Cheers, RickO
