Same Date - Two Different Mintmark Styles
Certain dates came with two different style mintmarks. Variety collectors like to find these. For example, in the Buffalo Nickel series (1913-1938) I know of two: 1917 S Large and Small S, and 1934-D Large and Small D.
How many denominations and dates do you know of?
Let's see how many we can post. Newer collectors will probably find this interesting.

The easy one would be the 1945 micro-S Mercury dime.
Aren't there a few Merc dates that have both normal and inverted S mint marks? Would those fit the bill?
Mercury Dimes:
1928-S Large and Small S
1934-D Large and Small D
1941-S Large and Small S
And there are MANY dates that have different styles of MM in the same year.
The more famous Liberty Seated Dimes with different MMs are
1875 CC and the 1875 S. The MMs are located in the wreath and below the wreath. I have all 4 in my set. Pretty cool.
1928-S Lincoln Cent was another.
While I am aware of these varieties, it is not an area of collecting that has interested me. No doubt if I saw one in change (
) I would keep it....

Way too many to count in the Lincoln series.
Small S, Large S, Trumpet S, Serif S, no Serif S, Ball S and so on.
.
The Liberty Seated half dimes provide numerous examples of different sizes of mint marks for the same date. The 1839-O half dime used at least four different sized mint mark punches, and the 1840-O had a similar number. The 1848-O half dimes exhibited three different sized mint marks, as detailed by William A. Harmon. The San Francisco Mint was not immune to these differences, as seen for the dates 1871-S, 1872-S, and 1873-S. There are several others, but these are the examples which quickly come to mind.
1880-CC Morgan, small and large CC's. Several CC Morgans with tall and medium CC's. Morgans from New Orleans with micro O's.

If they are the same mintmark.............no
Thanks for your reply, though

There are a number of different denomination 1928-S large and small S coins, other than the Cent.
I believe there is a 1928 Large and small S Half and Dime..........correct me if I'm wrong.

1941-S Jefferson Nickel...I believe.
You could have a fairly large and interesting collection just collecting all these coins listed in this thread.
