Team - I sort of stumbled across this, thought I'd share it. Watch out for this creep.
I must say, I've never seen such lack of attention from a coin dealer, as a guy randomly wonders around a store. This was a bit sloppy, IMO. Anyway, I hope this guy was caught.

The dealer deserved to be ripped off. What an idiot. Cases unlocked, someone wandering around aimlessly. Who in their right mind leaves a customer alone and unobserved in a shop with such valuable stock?
The second time he went into the case was hard to believe, they were standing next to him.

Amazing... that is sheer negligence on the part of the shop..... and real bravado on the part of the thief... right next to the shop keeper when he did the second one.... Cheers, RickO

Wow. I have a lot of family in Longview that I haven't seen in decades. I rarely see anything about it. I caught my first fish in Lake Sacajawea.
I frequent this shop on a semi regular basis. Typically there are at least two people behind the counter to watch over everything. People do have off day's where their attention is on other things. The first part of the video looked like she was on a phone call, which they get a lot of. The first time the thief was reaching behind the counter looked like he was testing to see how easy the cabinet is to open. Normally they do keep them locked up. The second time he reached behind the counter, the shop keepers attention was on something that another customer brought in to have examined. That's when the thief actually struck, which is why they then left the shop. I visited this shop about a month after that event happened. She had told me that she could not believe that she forgot to lock the case back up. That particular case is the one they keep gold coins and valuable graded items. It's located right in front of a desk that faces the door and cases, and just out of the view of the camera.
To say someone deserves to be ripped off is absurdity! They are normally very attentive and are very friendly. Typically keep two people behind the counter and the cases locked up. My guess is, she had something on her mind that was distracting to her that day plus the other person was probably on a lunch run. Let's not forget to place the blame on the scumbag thief, after all there would have been no theft if it was not for them.
No one deserves to be robbed.
When it's a sunny day and someone puts their sunglasses on as they go inside it's probably not going to end well

I agree, total lack of knowing whats going on by the staff. This should have never occurred.
The gal's hair acted as horse eye blinders and the dude took advantage of it.
