looks to be close but no cigar??? Absolutely no signs of the F and only about 2/3's of a very faint G. Is this not enough to be considered a No FG?

Sorry, the FG needs to be completely gone.

Agreed as above. The initials must be completely gone.
We have "Partial Drapery" Seated Half dollars so in the future we'll possible get "Partial FG" designations. It cannot hurt as that's what it is.
Will not be considered no FG.
I would not say that's no FG.
The correct die (pair) has the bridge of the nose highly eroded.
Will not qualify.... Close, but no cigar....

No FG is exactly as it states, no designers initials. weak and partial are common if you look at enough coins.
