American silver eagle questions
I inherited a book of ASE's and some additional 1996's and 1986's from my grandfather. My question is, what silver eagles are worth sending off to be graded and slabbed? I also have two 1996s that are toned and I've seen on eBay that toned silver eagles go for a premium depending on grade. I'd never sell anything but I would like to know if any are worth a significant premium. I've had the book for a few years and enjoy adding to it each year.

The value of most of these depends on condition. MS-70 (perfect) is what to strive for. There are other special coins in this set but I don't see any right off. So, the better coins if you have them are 1994, 1996, 2006-W, 2008-W, 2008 rev '07, 2011-S, 2011-W, 2012-W, 2013-W, 2014, 15,16, and 17-W.
You’ll find a lot a love for these silver eagles in America. Some folks look at them as bullion but they are very much collectible and loved by others. I like the looks of your set. Joe
Toning is not such that it would add a premium on either of the two you posted. Not for me, anyway.
Nice to have such inheritance and hope you continue with his legacy.

The only non mint mark silver eagle I would ever consider for submission would be a 1996.

Nice collection of ASE's. Also The 2007-W looks like a proof not an bullion or burnished version like the others.
Very nice collection
Successful transactions with : MICHAELDIXON, Manorcourtman, Bochiman, bolivarshagnasty, AUandAG, onlyroosies, chumley, Weiss, jdimmick, BAJJERFAN, gene1978, TJM965, Smittys, GRANDAM, JTHawaii, mainejoe, softparade, derryb, Ricko
Bad transactions with : nobody to date
I dont see any value in slabbing any of those.
I would keep it and continue to add to it each year, someday you can pass it on to someone you love to carry on the tradition.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I will keep it in the album and continue to add to it. Hopefully I can purchase additional blank "pages" somewhere.
@ranger1202 ...Very nice collection.... I really like the ASE's.... the key gem of the series is the '95W... but that one is expensive. Cheers, RickO

I have a love for silver eagles. Cant wait until next year when I get to fill the 2018 hole in my Dansco Album. Nice set you have here!
You want Dansco #7181 Supplemental page #4 Covers Silver Eagles 2013-2021 cost about 6 bucks at any coin supply dealer.

Haha I googled 95w silver eagle for sale. Wow. $$
Also interesting to learn that in 95 you had to purchase the 4 gold proof coins to be able to purchase the w proof silver eagle. https://www.coinworld.com/news/precious-metals/2014/04/missed-opportunities-1995-w-silver-eagle-a-stopper.all.html
Surely it would be beneficial to add other attainable proof years to my set. I found dansco sells an 86-06 album with proof spaces and an 07- current with proof spaces. Maybe ill order that and start filling it up. Fortunately (or unfortunately), it appears I also inherited a desire for collecting coins.
@ranger1202 ....Yep.... it seems you got the coin bug.... Be careful... it gets worse. Have fun, it is a great hobby and it has all sorts of interesting aspects. Cheers, RickO
