Wow, time flies...
I'm very happy to have been a member here for this long. From the threads of the US Mint, to my newest passion, Samples. From my childhood love of Lincoln cents, to finding out about business strike S-mint National Park quarters, and starting a roll set. I've learned much here, and my love of collecting has grown.
December 29th will mark 10 years for me, I've decided to do a giveaway, a chance to give back to the forums.
I ask that you post your favorite coin and how you acquired it. One per, please...
(Names will be placed in a hat and picked by my Daughter)
Winner will be announced on the 29th of December 2017, The prize will be a PCGS sample.
Thanks,
Steve~

Wow it sure does, congrats on the 10 year mark!
My favorite coin is easily the silver dollar. As a child in the 70's we had an elderly friend of the family, Mr. McDonald, that we met at Church and on occasion he would give my sisters and I silver dollars. I will never forget him or his kindness.
Successful card BST transactions with cbcnow, brogurt, gstarling, Bravesfan 007, and rajah 424.
Here is my favorite "right now." Bought it at a local regional show and just really enjoyed talking to the collector that was set up at a dealers table.
Inherited from my Great Grandfather who received it as a gift from Abe Curry, first Mint Director in Carson.

Ebay:
Wow CommemKing that is a beautiful half dollar!!!!!
My favorite coin is also a Morgan Silver Dollar, given to me by a friend almost 40 years ago sparking my interest in collecting!
Very cool, congratulations! I’m at 10 years on the 31st. You’ve got two whole days one me!
This is my current favorite:
I got it from my friend Tom who has a coin shop.
My YouTube Channel
Probably boring everyone with my choice, but I have so many buffs that are favorites but this one ranks near the top. Got it off ebay for $7.50.

Congrats on the milestone. I have to say my favorite coin is my one classic piece of gold. I wanted one for years and was finally able to afford one a couple years back. My thanks also to Bill Jones for checking it out at a show for me!!

@CommemKing love that design and coin. If I was going to buy one classic commemorative, that would be the one I want.
I have posted this once before on these boards, but this is my favorite. I bought it sight unseen from a larger dealer who still puts out those massive printed lists. I was just getting into double dimes by die variety collecting at the time and I wanted to snag a proof-like 1875. I was so pleasantly suprized when I got into an expert's hands, as I thought it was a BF-2

Happy ten year anniversary. Here's a favorite of mine. Given to me by a coin shop owner who is also a favorite:
Congrats on the 0th anniversary! One of my favorites...

You certainly have given back already over the past ten years. I have to say that first Incase my choice disqualify me. I bought this off the sight it’s so weird it has grown on me.

Best place to buy !

so many to choose from, but maybe this one. Got it from Mark Feld in an NGC 65 holder. Resides now in PCGS 64 holder with a green sticker from Far Hills, NJ.
Thanks @jesbroken just when on eBay bid on a bunch of buffs.

10 years with 1,000 posts...I would go with quality over quantity anyday. Congratulations for sticking around for so long!
Favorite coin...tough one...my 1872-S H10C MPD FS-302 PCGS AU58 Gold CAC is up there in the top three. I picked this one up from a forum member, althought the variety was not attributed, it was, and still is a very nice coin which I will probably keep for the long haul.

Congrats on ten years and thanks for the chance in your giveaway @ECHOES.
My current favorite is this 1860-S quarter eagle, which I purchased on eBay three years ago. It's a moderately difficult date, but not overly so, and readily available in this condition. The toning, however, is special.
Congrats on 10 years.
Here is one of my favorites, a Bust $1/2 love token:
plucked off eBay before they started to be priced stupidly.
BHNC #203
This is my favorite coin in my collection. I acquired it from Craig H. when I started my Registry collection of Roosevelt dimes several years ago. It was part of his blue dime collection.
Happy 10 years!
My favorite coin is an 1803 100/000 large cent my dad bought for me circa 2007. I was about 13 at the time. I still own the coin and will never sell it.

I was at the Santa Clara coin show about ten years ago and visited Andy's table "Angel Dee's" and ran across thee most beautiful 21 buffalo nickel on planet earth. I was going to buy it on the spot but for some reason I didn't. Then, every night, when I'd close my eyes this coin haunted me. I would close my eyes and all I could see was this 21 buffalo nickel. About 2 weeks of this haunting until I picked up the phone and called my man Andy to purchase this beauty and never looked back. This coin is the pinnacle of my buffalo nickel collection as far as beauty goes .
It will be my 10yr in 2020 as I was a bit slow to join. Congrats to you!

Thanks @ECHOES !
Congrats on 10 years. I have learned more about coins on these boards than I could ever hope for through the Red Book! That's no slight to R.S. Yeoman either et, al.
Here is a Morgan that was in my Great Grandfathers roll desk per my Grandmother. Should be my favorite aside from what I bought. Thanks!
Fav coin is a 1921 peace.....why? It has a circulated cameo look to it that basically made me fall in love with it.
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
My find in a whitman flip given to me by a friend.

This could be mine.

Went to a show looking for a 93-S in G6 or VG8 max (budget only allowed this).
No luck, but, a dealer I was familiar with came up to me later on in the show and threw this one in front of my face. I told him it was probably not going to work for me moneywise. He said, "If I were you I would buy this one."(what else would you have expected him to say
I rummaged through my pockets and barely had enough to pull it off. Thought about it for a little bit, then decided to go for it. This was June 1995. I paid a whopping $860 which at the time was a lot for me. Glad I made the right choice because I think I might have looked back on it as one that I would regret later.
Congratulations on 10 years! Thank you for being an excellent member of "The Boards"!
WAY too many to pick one. I normally have a group of about 5 that are my favorites. Here's one I always enjoy. If I win, please give the sample to someone else, preferably a YN.
U.S. Type Set
Congrats on 10 long years! Here's to 10 more...

This is a favorite of mine.
Also one of my first "expensive" coin purchases after getting the bug from buying Franklins for 90% silver to filling up an album set. I found the whole 55 proof set in an antique store and paid $100 for the set. The rest of the set is long gone but this Franklin is a forever keeper.

I'm sure people here are tired of seeing this, but it's still my favorite. Mark Feld was kind enough to review a few Heritage lots for me and we were on the phone as he reviewed them. When he got to this one he said something like "Oh Wow, what a great coin! This one is worthy of really stretching for."
For such a big purchase I usually like to be on the phone with an agent during the auction but I was on a family vacation in Hawaii. I decided to just put in a strong bid and let the cards fall how they may. I still vividly remember sitting next to my wife on a beach on the North Shore of Oahu. I logged in to see if I won and was pleasantly surprised. When it showed up in the mail it was phenomenal. I haven't seen another 21 like it:
This was my first HK-398. Did some serious negotiating to get it. Purchased raw, it now resides in a PCGS holder as an MS-63. I own three more now. Always looking for better or a lower number. And congrats and thanks for the giveaway!
Cheers
Bob
I'm a fan of Buffalo Nickels. But I've been trying to find a nice example of the 1911 Guatimoc token with the Coffee Tree reverse. Found the example below some time ago and love the simple design.
That's crazy cool !
Congrats on a decade of fun here

This coin I acquired for the cost of one cent, I love it
