1891 Crystal Palace Photographic Exhibition 42mm Diameter Copper
The obverse is the same as used on the 1854 HK-8 white metal Crystal Palace SC$1 also struck by Pinches. I've always considered this design to be very attractive as it closely resembles Herman MacNeil's Ty1 Standing Liberty Quarter. However thankfully on the SLQ Miss Liberty isn't walking through the gateway of America while flaunting her bare breast at a bystander sheep. Lux Mihi Laurus on the reverse translated from Latin is "The Laurel Is My Light" in English.

Since you started with a Crystal Palace medal, one of my favorite subjects, I'll play along.
I need yours by the way.

From the Edmund B. Sullivan Collection and a great new addition to my tokens and medals of Joseph H. Merriam:

@DCW....That is a gorgeous token.... amazing condition... Cheers, RickO
Thanks @ricko! Like most great pieces I had to stretch for it. Prices on this larger 31mm Lincoln by Merriam have really climbed in recent years. I have never seen one so sharply struck. Just look at the detail on Lincoln's bust.
