Coin are minted for commerce. Yet somehow we've taken coins and invented purposes for them otherwise.
Decoration? Coin jewelry. Art? Hobo nickels. Espionage? Carved out dollars. We've even used them embedded into resin as toilet seats! Can you
think of other purposes- for pleasure or for profit- you've seen coins used for?

Making decisions in sports, insurance and personal issues, in shoes as decoration, targets in shooting displays and - since not mentioned here yet - objects of collector value entirely out of proportion to innate or commercial value. Cheers, RickO

I would be afraid some one would break in and steal it.

Maybe the fourth one in from the edge of the hood is a war cent.

I also think I see a Frith Nickel on the front fender.
Are there any 'dummies' that can verify from this picture ;)

If I had a nickel for every time we have posts like these...I'd have a car like this. Ok. Maybe not.

I've seen a few people glue then on their floors instead of tile. I've glued one nickel to the floor once in a store as a gag....you should have seen how many people tried to pick it up but gave up in frustration.

There's an auto repair shop where I live...........the owner glued a quarter to the sidewalk just outside the entrance.

He gets a kick out of watching customers try and pick it up. (including me)

On one of the corners in my neighborhood the homeowner had a new sidewalk put in. They inlaid a Kennedy half (clad type), obverse side up, into the cement. Haven't seen anyone trying to excavate it as yet. It reflects the light at night from the corner overhead streetlight.
