What a load of crap. Fact. The Final AP Poll had Clemson, Oklahoma, Georgia, Alabama and Ohio State in that order.
Fair enough, but if the way we "test" the Committee's choices is by comparing them to the AP poll, then why did we abandon the AP poll in the first place? There is going to necessarily be subjectivity in deciding who the best team is when teams don't play very many, if any, common opponents. I just think taking the choice away from coaches and sportswriters and giving it to a handful of random people was silly. That doesn't mean I think they're wrong this year or any year, just that I think the process is silly. Mostly, though, I think parading a playoff as objectively decisive and therefore better than the opinions of coaches and sportswriters is a joke, when a handful of random people get to decide who is in the playoff, and they can exclude teams with the same or better records than the one's they let in.
This is for you @thisistheshow - Jim Rice was actually a pretty good player.

You can only go by the current system you have in place. This year the two major polls exactly ended up as exactly as the commitee.
It was the polls before and then the BCS (two teams) and now the 4 team playoffs. I'm sure it will be something else in the future. Personally I like the original poll system.
