That is far better than that new Liberty gold piece with the YUGE stars as a tiara.

    LMFAO.

I was thinking the same thing.

I agree...the portrait is good, but the stars are ridiculous, and render the coin a head-scratcher.

@KollectorKing - That's pretty bad, but probably actually a candidate for "ugliest coin of 1878." LOL, based on your title, I assumed that this was another "look how pathetic the US Mint has gotten" thread.

Because it is an 1878 CC, I would give it a mercy dip...... as far as ugly for 2017....That Lions Club silver dollar is a maggot gagger....Cheers, RickO

I agree, it's got to be the Lions Club.

Paid for it. It's not graded. Junk silver is all and NGC should have thought twice about even doing it in my opinion.

This is a perfect example of why the Mint needs to do away with the laser enhanced frost. The machine can't even stay in the lines. It's so bad it makes her look like she has really bad acne, just look at the profile of some of those pimples!!

Yep, I hope the laser frosting goes away soon.. I hate the look of the newer proof gold eagles.
