Wow! Looks a point undergraded. Such a hammered strike too.

When I grade Peace dollars I figure out what a similar Morgan would grade and subtract one full point. That usually gets me pretty close. Not sure why they’re so hard on these. Sure they’re not all struck well....... but some Morgan’s aren’t either.

I think the hit on the eagle is what made it go 4+ instead of a 5 and personally the hit doesn't even bother me much so I would happily pay under 65 money for quality like this. I have several plus coins exactly like this, I like them more than many of the coins in the next grade up. Nice pickup.

Agree with Phil, the board consensus reasoning, and PCGS on this gorgeous coin. Congrats on a great value!

The jump to $3500 is what keeps that coin out of 65. Those of us who collect peace dollars are well aware of the tough grading on the money jumps.

    Nice coin.

I saw the grade, but I would have said ms64.

I won! Thanks for the generous giveaway, I'll PM you my details. ;)

Yes you won. My guess was 65 till I saw it. I still think 65 but maybe PCGS didn't want to give it that because of the huge price increase between 64-65?
    Sometimes I wonder...
