Paranoia time...why did my PCGS shipment go from 92658 to the 92662 Balboa Island USPS?

Something weird happened today on the expected delivery day. My Priority package went through the sorting complete / distribution to PO Box in progress routine at the 92658 post office (the correct one) , but then like an hour later, arrived at another post office in zip code 92662 about 3-4 miles down the road. Should I panic yet?

Nah...way too early to panic. USPS packages are bouncing around like Vulcan ping pong balls during turbulence on the Enterprise.
were there any balboas in it?
I'm familiar with Balboa Island.
It's just off to the right of the Bermuda Triangle .
(I wouldn't worry about the package, imo)
Go get it! You're the man!

Well I've got relatives on Balboa, so maybe I'll get it !

A couple of months ago shipped a package from our office outside of Boston to Rochester, NY and it ended up mis-routed to Puerto Rico 2 days before the hurricane. So no, there is no need for you to panic.

Good luck !!!
The paranoia will be offset by a "you suck", when it's back in your possession. (or so we can hope)

I am loving the dealer responses on this thread. Hilarious.
In fairness to the OP, even paranoids have enemies
.
Could the USPS be part of the "deep state"?
Sounds like it was on the truck for delivery and the carrier picked up the wrong package and put it in the pile for the other Post Office. Dont worry when they sort it they will find the mistake and correct the delivery.

Mine did the exact same thing a week and a half ago. The next tracking entry was "picked up by agent" (phew!). It appeared on PCGS' site three days later. It appears to be taking some time for submissions to get logged into the system...

This is the most likely explanation.
Then again, the OP could have simply called his local PO.
Everyone seems to be trying to find a rational explanation, which has me laughing. The simplest explanation is:
Because USPS.

No, my esteemed Colonel.................It's part of the "STUPID state".

I had a package from east coast go to Guam or American Somoa before it found its way to me in AK.
It made it, but hmm, sometimes I wonder if some of these epic re-directs are really just USPS people entering the wrong zip codes
Guam and American Somoa? No way, lol.

Glad you got your package. Being the holiday season and the package glut, nothing would surprise me - for the next few weeks.... There will be lost packages, delays, misdirected parcels and other frustrating things...happens every year. Cheers, RickO
I have a package purchased from ebay floating around somewhere for a while. Got my refund from seller.

Did PCGS just move?
Martiin
Yes but they use the same PO box as before. The move only matters if you are sending via FedEx.
