It came in an original Proof set... I purchased just the nickel graded as the others were so so ... I actually just saw an amazing complete proof set all the coins were so so except the absolutely incredible merc dime... The dealer/collector just wouldn`t part with it...
Here are a few pics of a proof set I purchased from the post office back in 1974 that I have just had in a card board box the last 43 years... Tough to capture the colors with the mirrors but cool...
Yes good observation Rick the dime is the only one that has kept it`s mint brilliance for the most part except for a very slight touch of light blue... The Kennedy has only a touch of gold/light blue in the fields but the Roosie and the Kennedy and the obverse of the penny are the only ones that have kept their cameo in my 1974 Proof set... Ike and the penny have the most color and the nickel and quarter about the same medium color with the reverses all with more color then the obverses except for Ike has the most color on the obverse... Whats interesting about the 74 proof set is the very similar matching look they all have... Food for thought when it comes to looking at supposed proof sets that have been broken out and holdered....
Don't remember seeing Jeffersons from KPL. Mostly proof silver. More green on AB's Jeff than KPL could produce. I like both coins.
He's sold some proof Jeffs. Nothing in a while though. Even a PR 67 71-S shows up in his past feedback... which just happens to be the same grade as the one posted...

Absolutely.... Back in the day the post office where I grew up on Long Island would order them in from the mint... We also ordered MS $2 currency from the Post Office when it came out...

The 71-S Jeff looks like a KPL coin... very nice coins...
Whats a KPL coin?
KPL is a seller out of Utah on Ebay that sells modern toners (mostly Ikes and JFKs) with a certain "look" -- which that Jefferson has...
Here's a link some of KPL's coins as posted by bolivarshagnasty in 2016...

I see! Well I really like this Jefferson looks proper to me...
I like it too... did you buy it already graded or did you find it raw and get it graded ?
Zoom in on the true views. There is a purple ghost right of the 4th pillar!
The stairs on that nickel are hammered! Nice coins!

AB, Be careful. The toned modern proofs can be addictive.

Have a few moderns that have been hard to pass up myself. The Rosie is in a PCGS PR67 holder.
