How would you describe what is going on with this H10c?

I am speaking at 2 o'clock. I have never really seen this type of die marriage before. I am pretty certain it is no big deal but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.

You'll need to explain the characteristic you see better. Is there something raised? All I see is toning.
Choices include:
1) debris on the planchet
2) incomplete or thinned planchet
3) worn dies.
Not knowing what the date is or if this is seen on others, I would go with debris on the planchet.
That's common think of gold dollars. The denticals appear missing from your coin from 9 - 2. I agree with Rick. Not enough metal to fill the die due to various reasons.
Any such thing as a shift in collar?
Hard to tell from that photo, but possibly a minor lamination.
EagleEye gave likely possibilities.... would have to examine the coin in hand for any more definite determination. Cheers, RickO
