Great Looking Trade Dollar for a Great Year
You don't often see color like this on a Trade Dollar. It reminds me a bit of the pastel toned PCI ASEs.
The date is great too and a favorite of mine.
I also just noticed it's missing a few things, the tops of the Es on the reverse and the dot after FINE.

I'm surprised to learn two things now! One is that this coin is owned by TDN (less surprised) and the second is that it's his avatar coin (more surprised). I see his avatar coin all the time but I didn't make the connection! Congrats on a wonderful coin @tradedollarnut!

Here's a proof example, see if anyone can spot the pickup. Hint: lower reverse. It's really not that difficult. I'd be surprised if more than 10 survivors were out there (of this specific variety).

Thanks, Dan. it took me a minute to find the broken off lower left serif on the 2nd L on the proof. However, during the time I wasted I also found a subtle difference in the alignment of the date numerals (I think). Probably wrong on that. I looked through HA archives and all I could find were 2/2's.

Every know proof exhibits this trait Kaz, no know circulation strike show it. Every coin that exhibits multiple traits of proof production. There are other minor die makers to show die uniqueness. Ignor the noob, he is trying to look smart but he is really just regurgitating stuff we have told him over the years.
I will say there are more than a few trades in proof holders that aren’t proofs.

definitely counterfeit. I have some fakes with the correct wt but have assumed they are just an alloy that "gives" the correct weight. How are you sure that it's silver?

I'll throw mine into the pot...It's got the PUP and mirrored surfaces beneath the toning. NGC calls it MS62PL. I tried crossing as a Proof and it DNC.
