Trying to access the Stacks' on-line sale. Can anyone get in?

Stacks’ is holding an Internet only auction today which is the end of their Baltimore sale. I tried to get in only to find out that you have to sign up with another server. The screen as the first lot plaster in the middle of the format so that you can hardly see anything. To me the sale is totally inaccessible. Has anyone else had similar problems?

Stacks’ seems to have death wish when it comes to their sales. They seem to be determined to make their site as difficult to use as possible.

Opps! One mistake, The sale does not begin until noon. They posted the starting time as 9AM PST.

Are you using the phone app or web app?

I can see the sale (first item) on both formats using Google Chrome on my laptop and using an Android phone and their app.

Good for you, Zoins. It runs so fast, I can't tell what it's doing or even what lot it's on. A quarter of screen is blocked, and it seems you can't make any cut bids. I think there is some kind of new software that must be down loaded. Stacks' just can't the software thing right so far as I'm concerned.

Tried two different platforms (2 desktops and Android phone) and had no issues, including the live auction. For me, their software has gotten much better over time.

I keep getting this message that I need to download some sort of software on my desktop. Against my better judgement I clicked on it, but the message did not go away. They want me to sign up for some sort of service. It says that I will get a $10 auction credit if I do. I don't care for any of this type of stuff because of problems I've had with malware.

It seems as if I can bid, but I don't want to click on something I don't want just to test it.

It doesn't really matter I guess. I placed my highest bids before the sale and as usual I am getting blow out of the water. I hope people bid like this when I get ready to sell my collection.

Do any of you have a gray box behind the bidding area? I do. I can't get rid of it. If anyone knows what it is is I'd love to know. It says "accept end-use license agreement." Below that it says "Download plug-in." If you click on that you get a request for all the sign-up information that you see on a website. :s

Perhaps I am the only one ... :/

Why can't Stacks' just take bids a quite playing games? The Stacks' site is not a nice place to do business.

No, I am now on a desktop computer. So far as my iPad is concerned, I can't track the progress of the auction. All I get is crap about signing up for an app. My wife tired to do that while we were in Baltimore, and I was still tied up.

Why can't Stacks' do software right? Is it really that hard for them? Bidding there is very restricted when you compare it to Heritage.

How did it go Bill? Hope you got it worked out!

One item was really interesting. I spent the day not knowing if I won or not due to a message saying "WON | Purchased" above "Reserve or Opening Bid Not Met." Later I did get an invoice so the order did come through! Now, I just can't wait to get it!

One thing that is strange is that as soon as the invoice is sent it seems links to the lots disappear so I can't find them easily on the Stack's website again.

I think I can bid, but I never tested it because I had bids on the book that were my max. I got one item and was the immediate underbidder on a couple of others.

I don't understand these pop-ups that say you need to upload additional software when you can bid before the auction without problems on the desktop and the iPad. I don't know why Stacks' does this stuff. As of now my iPad is useless for the Stacks' auctions. I can't sit in the living room and monitor where the auction is. Instead I have to sit for hours in front of my desktop or constantly go to the desktop to see what what lot is up for sale. This is not a good system.

Sorry you had a hard time with their site, Bill. I've had my problems with them in the past, but once I downloaded their app everything was smooth for me from my phone.
The prices were exceptionally strong in this sale, so I assume online bidding worked for most.
