Thanks. But when I look back on it all, I really don't know what to think about it all. Way back when, our family would always get together for Veterans Day. All the uncle's and my dad served during WWII. When they were young, the get togethers were loud and boisterous affairs. So many stories, So many heroic deeds! As they got older, things got more somber. Instead of listening to tales of glory, they brought pictures of friends and comrades who never came back; from places like I-W-O J-I-M-A, or Okinawa. Instead of the beer flowing, the tears flowed. About brother Johnny being shot down over Berlin. And how grandma and the girls never got over it. To a man, in their last year's of life, they all had the same opinion. It wasn't worth it. "Look at this country today" they ALL said. We fought, blead, and died for this? They were are pacifists at the end of their lives. They're all gone now. I miss them one and all. R.I.P. Uncles Bob, U.S.M.C., A TRUE AMERICAN HERO. Ernie, U.S. Army, Philippines, Melvin, 82nd. Airborne, France, Germany, Lloyd, Army North Africa-Normandy, Floyd, North Africa, Italy, Curly, U.S.N. Pacific theater. DAD, U.S.N. Pacific theater, search and rescue. And Uncle Johnny. Who never came back. The tears are still flowing Uncle Johnny; and I never even met you. I will never forget all of you. NEVER. But I don't know what to make of it all. I never will.

Life is precious and those who spent even one day in military service have my sincere gratitude. Think of all the good things, good times, choice experiences, and dear friendships that many sacrificed so we could live a little better and enjoy Liberty - one of the rarest privileges in history.
Those who take a knee and protest have the right to do so, but they are selfish and ignorant in the extreme. They will not entirely avoid the consequences of their decision.
Those who serve actually get more out of their servitude than those who don’t. And those who take a knee in protest during our National Anthem have a right, as well. We (those who took the oath) served, so that they ( anyone who protests) may do so. Peace. We have an intact Constitution.

I enjoyed my service, US Army 1966-1972. Only make E4 but had a blast. Got to see some of this world at their expense. I would recommend it for any young men out there.

Agree. I always encourage youngsters to join the service for a few years as a full timer. Go travel and see the world while learning to work with others.
Cool . I just joined and bought an ASUS C202SA Chromebook for $119 no tax and free shipping for my 7 years old to do her school research.
Had drinks with 2 vet co-workers last week. One was in the Army, starting off enlisted in Vietnam before becoming an officer. The other was an officer in the Air Force. Lots of great stories and camaraderie.
