Confused.
Why is the non-silver proof set so expensive ??

I know the silver proof set is high because of the low mintages for the dime & half.

What about the 2013 - 2017 sets ??
Any possible keys ??

They cut off sales early. "Keys"? I'm not so sure. Even with the early cutoff, they sold 700,000 sets. The silver set is also at almost 400,000 sets. This is not rare for proof coins since not all series collectors include them.

The Enhanced Uncirculated sets that are being held in some disdain only have a mintage of 225,000 which is well below either of the 2012 sets.

Neither rare nor scarce. Just wait a few years and the prices will probably come down.

Temporary price levels.... Perception is a great marketing tool..... As reality sets in, prices will recede. Cheers, RickO

The 2015 silver proof sets have an 8,000 lower mintage than the 2012 but are selling at a lower price.

For the silver Kennedy half, the price disparity is even greater. The 2012-S has a mintage of around 395k from the regular silver proof set and around 45k from the Limited Edition silver proof set, bringing the total to about 440k. The 2015-S has a total mintage of about 387k, all from the regular silver proof set (no Limited Edition sets were issued that year). Despite the 12% lower mintage, the silver 2015-S sells for about $25, while the higher mintage silver 2012-S brings around $100. So price and mintages don't always track each other.
