Hey guys, again here is a better picture of a 1992 Denver mint Lincoln penny that has doubling on the obverse and reverse. On the obverse if you look at the date and mint mark, truly tou can see the doubling. In the reverse, take a look at the motto "AMERICA" again i see doubling.

I am no expert and I see the dramatic effect you are looking at, but isn't that classic MD?
Yes, those devices are doubled, but alas, it is caused by 'ejection doubling' and not an artifact in a 'doubled die' which imparts the doubled characteristic on all coins minted with that particular coin die, yours is random.

I looked through all the 1992's to see if the characteristics are same, guess what it not. Dont know how you guys grade coins. Im,done in this site.
What does random mean, and error?
a 'doubled die' variety appears on EVERY coin struck by that die, the example you show is a 'random' error (very minor in nature) and only happens occasionally to coins due to more than likely vibration created during the minting process. The 'shelf like' doubling of character devices traveling in the same direction is a good indicator that it's 'machine doubling' and not a true 'doubled die' sorry.

Please learn what "machine", "strike", "mechanical" doubling means. It's a learning process.
Whenever you see that "shelf" like image it's an indication of one of the above (they are all the same just different terminology). Double Dies display a notching or split serif. Yours does not have that and thus is not a DDO.

Do not get frustrated.... What you see is machine doubling - there looks as if there may also be some die deterioration there...Yes, you do see doubling... however, it is not doubled die.... Cheers, RickO

Good eye, just a little misdirected. For doubled dies, focus on years that have known DDs. For other errors, look at all coins. For discovering a new (unknown) DD, focus on newer coins (2017, 2016, etc.).
If you pay attention to the feedback and learn, you will eventually be an expert at it since you are looking closely at so many coins.
I love this thread because I feel his pain. I have found so may what if coins that have turned out to be nothing. Like Bob told me, just keep looking.
This guy has posted this and similar questions before guess he refuses to understand or does not accept others opinions on this subject.
Give all you guys credit for explaning but it beating a "dead horse" with these guy and doubling.

So true, but I think he is in a mad rush to find errors, not educate himself, unfortunately.
