    I love it when sellers call a coin 'satiny'....that usually means muted luster from a dip.

    'unquestionably' as in "this coin is unquestionably prooflike".
    And the photo your looking at is a hazed over turd.
    I guess they might be technically right and the use of 'unquestionably' is used to try and remove any of your doubts that you have in thinking how the heck did this coin end up in PL holder :D

    That and Key Date! I grimace when I see that used with one of the most common dates of a series.

    "Rare" is certainly overused. One gentleman seller on eBay has two "Rare" sovereigns that would be actually worth owning, if they both didn't have original mintage of over 2 million coins each, and if they weren't each priced one hundred dollars too much.

    It is "Rare" that I will submit to that kind of rear-end whuppin'.

    Agreed. I just did a quick search for '79-S to '82-S morgan dollars, there are 70 listings with "Key Date" in the title...

    "CH/GEM BU" yeah, not one word but short enough. One seller on ebay in particular feels the need to add this in every roll and coin they list, even though they are obvious AU or problems coins.
    When was the last time anyone's seen a real BU roll of 26-D or 27-D peace Dollars?

    Eye appeal.... a totally subjective phrase in a subjective (at best) hobby..... What people find attractive can differ wildly... and for each individual, their preference is meaningful 'to them'. Which is why I disagree with it being a component of grading. Cheers, RickO

    IMO, most of these posts are "right on." I got the idea from the ANA Grading guide where adjectives are used but are not defined. For example, what does "Few" mean? How many is "Few?"

    Other words posted here are defined and don't count. For example BU (Brilliant Uncirculated). If I say a coin is BU I think we should all be able to see an image of some Brilliant Uncirculated coin in our head.

    Let's keep going please as I really want your suggestions.

    I agree with the "few" comment. I have to say though that in the ebay world at least, "BU" can mean anything from a cleaned xf to an exceptional gem.
