Great... I will be watching this all weekend.... That medal was the beginning of the hippie movement... 'peace and love'.....just took a long while to mature... like 100 years...
Cheers, RickO
I'll try my best to remember to get these going again at the end of the week.
Last weekends had a really intense posting turnout, far greater then expected.

I really wanted to start posting more photos and really struggled with my computer importing my camera chip. I just said heck with it. Took some shots with my phone.....

This Monitor shows up at dealer set up one day in Denver prob 2006? The dealer setting up his cases right next to ours put this out and I bought it in about 6 seconds for I think 2 maybe 300? Can’t remember. But I was there to sell more than buy stuff right? Oh well I still love it and think it’s a neat token. The only one of these I’ve seen RB and it started a mini set of Monitor types.
I didn’t buy it from Eagle Eye but I think it’s cool that it crossed Ricks desk once. It’s in my forever collection now.
Someday I’ll have pro photos to share. Thanks.
I Love this thread.
Nice pieces all.
I will have to admit. I haven't been posting much recently but I did miss this thread.
It's good to see you posting more regularly again too, Broadstruck!
Photobucket kidnapped most of my images but I'll try to work up something to post here.
Here was another one I was workin on that’s begging for a true view

What is the story with these? Have not seen or heard of these before.

Trying a new animation technique. It will run slow and choppy as it loads but give it some time and it will then run smoothly:

@rmpsrpms, that's taking it to a whole new level. Neat!
That's cool. How are you keeping the depth of field? Everything is staying in focus.
It's still the weekend for me.

Stacking multiple photos into one image would be my guess.
Pretty incredible! Looks like a 3D render.
I have to say this is one of the coolest advances I've seen in numismatics. I was going to say "recently" but will leave it at "ever"
Oh ok. I've seen some of Dan's other strikes in the past. Cool stuff!

It is impressive. It makes one want to learn how it is done so you can try it yourself.

Thanks guys! Indeed this was done with focus stacking and 3D rendering.

Would it be possible for you to do that with a BU coin showing the metal flow up the side of a machine doubled mint mark and posting it to a new discussion so I don't miss it if you do? Thanks.
The Type V from the Columbian Expo.
I did a rendering of fairly dramatic MDD on a 1957-D Lincoln Cent a while back. It's not animated, but I did renderings at a few angles to show the shelves. Take a look here:

It's interesting on this one that the mintmark is untouched. This is because the mintmark is shallow on this particular die/coin, and the date is taller, so the date was hit by the die when it chattered but the mintmark was spared.
