    The coin has problems, I'll guess 61 at a TPGS.

    what you percieved as problems are tapes on holders tying the coins to shoot pics easier.

    the 1901 looks cleaned. the 1897 looks like it could be ms63 or au58. the 1881 looks au55/8. of course, that is based on those photos.

    that will be 15.95 for each coin plus a $10 handling fee. just put a sticker on each of the coins with those grades and paypal the fee to me pls. thanks. ;-)

    One of my mentors would call all three of these 'whisper' coins.

    None looks truly Unc. to me.

    What I perceived as a problem is the light BUFFING on the 1901.

    My original grade (61) referred to the unoriginal surfaces on the first AU coin - the 1897 - that I believe should get into an MS-61 slab. When I saw that you posted two other coins, I edited my comment as only confusion could result. B)

    From the photos provided, I have no clue. It’s darn hard to tell through a 2x2 window. Surfaces look “off” with less luster than should be there given the AU/BU detail. Cleaning says I, but with different photos my opinion could change.

    I myself wondered why a person collecting gold coins felt that they couldn't pop the coins out of the 2x2 for a photo.

    Pictures make grading difficult as it is.... these pictures make it even more difficult.... I like gold coins though, so thanks for showing them.... Cheers, RickO

    The 1901 is definitely cleaned, the other two look like commercial uncs from the pictures. Unfortunately, the spread on $5 Libs is next to zero anyway. Hope this helps.

    @KollectorKing If they were my Coins, I wouldn’t invest the money into sending them in for TPGS Certification b/c they’d likely receive an “Altered Surfaces” Genuine Unc or AU Details non-Numeric grade.

    Commercial Uncs worth BV

    Send them in for grading if u think worth more otherwise just start on the bay at 95 pct BV and they should sell. Market will decide for u (not for sissies lol). Then u could take money get nice slabbed 69 pcgs mod gold which wb huge upgrade to that.

    I got some beautiful $5 Mod Commems at $320 each from Bullion Dealer set up at same show was at couple weeks ago - NGC PF69 UC. NGC PG shows 410 on them so good retail money potential.

    It's hard to tell from those pics.; maybe one is a commercial Unc., the others especially the 1901 a cleaned coin. Not worth paying the $30 or so a piece at either PCGS or NGC.
