Updated List - Now Many Coins Have Cert. Numbers
UPDATE #2: My coin collection was stored in a 1920s-era dime-denomination bank tray. It was made of steel, painted bright green on the outside, and had a yellow painted label that said with a swoosh in brown ink: "DIMES" This thing is kind of hard to miss - and the kind of thing someone might try to sell to a coin shop.
Hello All --
It has been ages since I posted here, and I wish I was coming back for a better reason. Alas, my coin collection was robbed. More than money, it took me a lifetime to assemble, and it is now gone.
That being said, some of the items were very unique -- California Fractionals, a Bass Pedigreed 1851-O Gold $1, and a Pop 2 Fr-2 1834 Classic Head $5.
I am hoping if any of you guys see any of thus stuff come into your store, that you please call the police.

Everyone is okay -- even the toy poodle.
No one was home when it happened.
All musical instruments are safe.
They got the coins, the jewelry, and many sentimental things, but it could have been terribly worse.

Ouch. I hope you are able to find moat or all of it. Contact Doug Davis at www.NumismaticCrimes.org also check local shops and pawn shops obviously but being LA crooks can just drive an hour away and be in another jurisdiction. Check ebay daily too for the more rare stuff. I'll put the word out to all the dealers in the riverside county area to be on the lookout for you.

Will copy over to the coin dealer network, but need a phone number (yourself or the police person handling the case) so that a dealer can call for immediate verification should something walk into their store.

I hate to hear this kind of bad news. This forum will disseminate your loss to many in the coin business. This might make the point for SecurePlus certifications where stolen coins can be identified at the TPG level? Opinion from PCGS wouold be helpful..
