Unfortunately, it is estimated there are 5,000+ 1882 $3 counterfeits......more than 3 times the number of genuine 1882's.
How do you know it's a fake? It's pretty hard to see much of anything in that photo. The seller himself seems reputable.
Mushy details and uneven dentils on the obverse and reverse.

Yeah I remember hearing that too that 1982 $3's are one of the most commonly counterfeited gold coins
Well... removed before someone got taken.... however, it will likely be back in a week or so... Cheers, RickO
