So If I wanted to turn in both sets to PCGS to be graded for 1st day of Issue It will be direct shipment from the mint after it reaches my home
    1. First I have to join PCGS so $69.00 Basic
    2. Service Fee Regular $32.00
    2. $18.00 a coin for First Strike x 8 each x 2 sets = $288.00
    3. First Day of Issue? Maybe a First Strike cost
    4. Shipping Cost back to me $ 25.00 Guess
    5. Total Damage $ 345.00 Both Set ( Membership Fee NOT Included )
    Am I missing anything?

I am happy that I had a chance to grab two on the first day. At least we can say we had the chance.

I know its a bit foolish but its sort of a trial run here, and when I am done I will have a unique set as most wont want to invest that much. I am holding about 24 PCGS, 2017-S PR-70's so this will be special.

  • RogerBRogerB Posts: 8,852 ✭✭✭✭✭

Hope it works out as you expect.

It's your money, but it's really a mistake. It's much cheaper to just buy them already slabbed. The bulk submitters pay about $8 per slab so the total cost to them of a set is way lower than to you. They can make money and you still get the set cheaper than submitting it yourself.

I know, that is what I was pointing out to him. He said there were still 30,000 left, but by this count it should be 20k or less now.

I have not sent it off yet so I might go that route. Thanks for pointing that out. And the good thing out of this whole deal is now I am a member of PCGS so I can send in any coin now. So they PCGS got another one!

My mistake, should have said 20,000. If they're all gone, that means the big boys spent about $2.8 million in the past day or two to buy up the remainder.

LOL. They go fast once someone is allowed to place an order for 5-10,000 units.

If you get the grading discount, these sets do pay. The 70s from the Congratulations set are about $200 on eBay.
