I don't get it , I have yet to see a Close AM in this date.I have searched hundreds of rolls and never found a 88 close AM.Every 88 I find is Wide.
The picture on the "Reg Strike " 88 shows a W AM.

You can't find them because there are none to be found wide AM was the norm up until 1993 when they switched to close AM. Some 1992's have the reverse of 1993 Close AM
I never heard of it before have you?.Clicked on the plus sign on the PCGS Price guide to check for DD.
djm Thanks for clearing that up.So why pay extra for the Variety designation PCGS 569369 for a coin that is normal for the date?
Someone posted this a while back.
It took a while to figure out the difference. The 569369 has a different G in the designer's initials. The standard coin has a rounder G while the variety has a vertical bar in the G. If you look at the two coins in coin facts you can see the difference in the Gs

Wish I knew who made it. They deserve credit.
The F and G is also thicker. They should call this the Tail Bar G Variety not Wide AM
