Lost and Found

AUandAGAUandAG Posts: 24,942 ✭✭✭✭✭

Many on this board will remember that I've lost two CC dollars on plane flights. Both pocket pieces, an 1878 and a 1879. Well, after those got lost I decided to carry an 1877cc trade dollar. Lost that one too. Had no clue where but suspected again it was an airline flight problem.
Well, just got a call from my son in ND and he said they were cleaning out the couch and guess what he found? Yep, it's come back to me baby! Can't wait to see my little friend again as it's been at least three years of anxious separation!

Would post a pic but it's on Photobucket and we are not

  • Lose that many nice coins and it might be best to use those deep pockets to get... deeper pockets maybe?

    Glad to hear it's back in hands that love it ;)

    Find one with a hole in it and put it on a key chain.

    Whoever found the other ones must still be wondering how a 19th century TD ended up on an airplane

    Glad you will be reunited with the coin Bob....I never carry pocket pieces.... just never felt it was necessary. However, if I had lost one... it sure would have cured me right then... ;) Cheers, RickO

    Glad you got yours back.

    I once lost an $8,000 coin for many months. I found it between my seats in the car quite by accident. In a spot very close to where the car wash vacuums every week.

    Whew.

    Two thoughts:
    Either
    a) you are happy that they missed it;
    or
    b) mad because they do a crummy job.

    I lost an 1884 Morgan that was a key fob a couple of years ago, it fell off from time to time while fumbling with my keys, The last time must have been in the snow or something and I never found it. Got another one and it stays on so far.
