IN the USA is there a call for ERROR COINS????
I have no idea if anyone collects error coins nowadays.....
In Australia this was a big thing in the 1970's .
I have a picture enclosed but is not slabbed as the value
is the flaw and not the date
The quarter is only there to show the actual size of the penny.

Error coins have a significant collector base here in the U.S.. That type of error though, would not be one in demand. Cheers, RickO
Many collect error coins here in the old USA. Yours appears to be struck through debris and I think it's cool. I'm sure that there would be a premium for that penny but not a whole lot. Certainly keep it as with all collectibles values go up and down and fads come and go.

I agree.
I agree with your decision to not slab this particular coin, but there can be reasons for slabbing an error other than it being a date or condition rarity. I have a valuable error that I had slabbed so that the error would not be in dispute and so I would not have to explain/justify/prove myself every time I showed it to someone; the recognition/authentication of the error is formalized and that will benefit all future owners.
Has anyone heard of a quarter that was struck down to be dime size. I just found it in my change dish the other day.
You need to open a new thread and include a picture. You will get some good advice after doing that.
@Timmay_9, if you go to the Heritage auction archives you'll find a fair number of examples of quarters struck on dime planchets. Here is a link:

Here's a 1952 Franklin Half Dollar struck on a silver quarter planchet that I own "from my birth year":
