First newp in almost 8 years

Well it's been like forever since I've had the pleasure of posting something on these boards. Had some family issues that needed my attention and now I can finally start rebuilding my box of twenty. Nice to be back in the saddle again.

Oh my how I've missed this place. The green thing ain't no booger......it's apparently a grading of the grading.

It's clearly bounced back nicely from the last time @ricko dipped it. ;)

We probably both figured out at roughly the same time that Premium Grolsch is not the preferred rinsing solution.

Welcome back after 8 years, Bruce. If you are happy with the coin that's the only thing that matters. You could certainly do a whole lot worse as a return to the hobby, that for sure.

To me, that 81-S looks awfully baggy to be a 66+. 2 point bump for color?

Cheek and jowl marks too, the slice mark in the field near stars 10 and 11, and the reverse is pretty "scratchy" looking.

    Maybe it's just the photos, but damn. I mean, if that's a 66+, I have a raw 81-S I need to submit because it's a lock 69.

My current coin collecting interests are: (1) British coins 1838-1970 in XF-AU-UNC, (2) silver type coins in XF-AU with that classic medium gray coloration and exceptional eye appeal.

Very pretty; I can tell from the slab shot in particular.

    Green could indicate PVC.
In which case, the sticker would read, "ACC!" :p

not sure if this comment is in jest..but if not, you know how very difficult some of these examples are pictured/perceived, and how that, in actuality in hand, are superior - you'd not comment as you did. We won't discuss the fact this is a + and was beaned too .

I probably should have waited to post better pictures, the images from the recency auction were not very flattering to what the coin is in hand. Something about this coin sang out to me, but I had my own reservations from the auction images and it wasn't until I spoke with both Julie and Jose that I was willing to pull the trigger. I have purchased from Legend in the past and in each case the coin has surpassed my expectations......this one is no exception. Grading from images can be deceptive.

My comments about some sort of green thing stuck to it were tongue in cheek regarding cac......
Again, thanks for all the comments, it's nice to be back. :)
