Anyone still use photobucket? If so for what?

I've been off the boards recently, and when posting a photo, I don't miss photobucket myself.

No.
No longer.
I read a comment that they should have left the links to older posts active as they could be considered historical reference. Some have been using them for 9 years plus and now all those links are broken. If they want to charge going forward, so be it. This was a form of blackmail.
I personally have hundreds of Photobucket links that are probably all gone now.
Not anymore.
My stuff is being held hostage

Kind of turned into a rusting electronic hulk.

It's of no use to me. I'd love to delete my account and all of the pictures in it. It always was hard to use at times because of their "enhancements" which often did not work. They have some of the least competent programers that I have seen on the Internet.
Every time I log on to it, the malware detectors on my computer go crazy and block a lot of the stuff. The thing is tied to Facebook and given the poor service, it gives Facebook a black eye.
Spam city don't even have a link anymore.
I've left my account there alone on the off chance their heavy handed/mid stream changing of the rules gets reversed and my old links go active again...really is a form of hostage taking or blackmail to CHANGE TOS retroactively, which is why I'm hoping they reactivate those. Fortunately my improving photography quickly showed me how limited they were (ie reducing file sizes) so my more recent photo activities were not linked there. Even so, it's sad about my dog website as that one is hard to get pictures onto.
For coins I'm now using collective coin as that also allows tagging so a photo can be in a specific collection to show off if so desired (and allows comments etc). Obviously here doesn't matter so much as pretty much any size file can be uploaded. However, having an online photo host makes sense for other sites.
Never did, never will I guess

Nope. Dropped it after repeated poor performance and a sloppy user interface.
Used it for years to host my eBay pictures but haven't for the last several years. I have over a thousand pictures out there and can't figure out how to do a mass download to my iCloud storage due to the annoying and disruptive ads that keep popping up.
it's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide
Thank you and thanks to PCGS for freeing us from PB.
Same here. It is blackmail.
Nice coin.
In the past I didn't mind paying a small fee for an upgraded account that would allow more storage, an ad-free UI, and other small benefits.
But when they pulled this stunt, I canceled the paid subscription. Funny enough...there is no way to kill a paid account other than to send email. I wasn't surprised. The site's management and technical staff are clearly inept and obviously unscrupulous.
I know I have posted many hundreds of photobucket images here. Their policy change is truly shameful.
Lance.
Photobucket lets you download all your photos in a zipped file. It worked like a charm for me (100's and 100's), flew them to The Cloud and now life is good. I for one will not be attending PhotoBucket's memorial service.
gonzer, how did you do that. I just tried to download a couple of small albums and I eventually get to the download button and nothing happens?

What's this Photo-thing you speak of???
Stopped using it the minute we were able to post images right from your hard drive. It's only use was for posting pics here(and other forums), but never used it as a sort of 'external storage device'. Super glad I don't have to rely on it any longer. Don't miss it one iota!
Sadly not all forums are as photo friendly as this one, so an online photo host is still useful.
Knew a few people who found out the hard way that their photos had been greatly reduced in quality (apparently an unannounced or unadvertised change) and they had used PB as their back up. Photos ruined for anything other than a forum sized post. Very unfortunate and not recoverable.
Nope. Not anymore. The site was dying a long time before it was dead.
Tommy, it was so long ago! I believe you have to look under your account settings. Sorry
Photobucket was really cool when it came out. It was perfect for forums and for ebay. It ran really fast until they started working on it. It let you control the size your image would display on the forums. That was handy. Today forum software controls everything.
I sure am glad I never used photo bucket! This does beg a question or 2 though.
Seems like some legal proceedings could be introduced against photo bucket! Most especially for what they have done with older hostings. Is their something in their terms of service that allows them to do this with absolutely no liability? Are their rumors of a lawsuit or has 1 been initiated? Sure seems like someone would be trying to go after their throat!
