Bust Halves from the Denver ANA show

It was a fun time. I really enjoyed the show. One of the best ever. For the great coins as much as the companionship. ( I finally got to meet doctor Dave!)
Sometimes I feel like the connection to other collectors is the very best time. I sat around for hours with like-minded hobbyists. Listening to and learning from them made my head spin. Very humbling.
The presentations were inspiring. David Finkelstein, Chuck Link, YN Garrett Ziss. JRCS.
I did buy some nice coins! Yay! I probably paid too much for some. But heck, once the money's gone all I think about are the beautiful coins.

That is quite the lot Lance. If I had to pick by visual appeal to me, I would take the blue 1824 and the 1829.

Nice as always. I have a bias toward the 1808/7. A very nice one at that.
Really nice group of bust halves. I think the 1813 stands out to me, nicely toned obverse and reverse.

The color is a little bright for me but that 13 is pretty wild, clash and color.

A big congrats on picking up that 20-107, very tough coin for sure. If you are ever fortunate enough to be in a position to upgrade her, I'd be quite pleased to have your hand me downs!

I'm curious to know how realistic the Greysheet and other price guide pricing is on these vs.the real market. I just realized reason for the "bust" term, dumb me. Bust = Dolly Parton type chest.

The show starts out with a bang with that glorious 1808
Was a good show for me. Met Pistareen, Julian, Mr Eureka and a few others there. Tried to meet the Colonel, but he wasn't taking my calls.
Submitted some coins to PCGS, and some ATS. Spent money and had fun. DIdn't have to get my partner a new kitchen or anything.
My personal highlight still (at that show) was seeing a Mormon Gold Double Eagle in an MS 61 holder for a half mil. Could hardly believe my eyes. I got this thing for Territorial gold. But you go back before 1849. Kudos to you. I like your coins, and the capped bust coins in every series.

I don't pay attention to the Greysheet but I do watch auction results and PCGS's price guide. I think it's fair to say if the coin is very scarce and/or extremely appealing it is not unusual for it to go for multiples of guide.
I bought the 1829 above, CAC and ex-Roger Solomon, from Dave Kahn at more than twice price guide. Otherwise average bust halves are closer to guide. But who wants "average"?

P.S. Bryce, I'm collecting die marriages and die states but I have no illusions about completing a set. I don't have the means even if I could find all the R7's and R8's. I am blown away by GoBust's accomplishment.
