Proof or Mint State???

segojasegoja Posts: 6,141 ✭✭✭✭

Seller is clueless. Tried to reason with the guy, but he claims the mint accidentally slipped proof coins into uncirculated sets.
Help me send this guy the message. The report button on the listing does not work for me'ebay.com/itm/1990-No-S-Proof-Penny/253085725809?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

    "Proof" is a manufacturing term.
"Mint state" is a grading term.

Some of the '90 (P) cents are remarkably PL and even have square rims.

But the most PL cents are the '88-D mint set issues. A few of these could be mistaken for proofs.

Ha, I remember having a 1990 mint set with a PL cent in it when I was a kid... Not sure what I ever did with it.

1990 seemed to produce several prooflike pieces and even some deep mirror like PL coins across denominations. I have seen several PL quarters and half dollars for 1989-1990.

Try again Ricko, I got to the 'ended' listing no problem. To see the original listing, click on "see original listing" just to the right of the title.

@Cameonut .... Thanks, when I initially tried, it would not take me to ebay.... perhaps it was my mistake. I see it now... The coin looks MS... at least from those pictures... Cheers, RickO
