Took advantage of PCGS Quarterly Special

MS63 on the half and AU58 on the quarter eagle. Really good images by @PCGSPhoto ... thanks a million Phil!

    Will do once they come back to me :) ... the QE might be tough cause it's super PL and that tends to make it harder to shoot through a slab, but I should be OK, and the SH should be OK.

    Wow, that quarter eagle looks very proof like. I would be interested in seeing more pictures of it.

    It even has mirrors in the shield on the reverse (on eagle's breast). A lot of 1869 QE's are well struck and are PL ... super low mintage, a scant 4,320 pieces. Crazy, right? Here are the 1869 examples in PCGS Coin Facts. In MS anything it's a really rare coin ... I try to acquire pieces with nice eye appeal :)

    By the way, when did pcgs scan your coins in? Mine were on the 27th.. I'm hoping they ship soon! Phil said he took the pics Friday.. does that mean they are almost ready to ship?
