60 (with rub) details, artificial color.

62 RB even if it does have some rub and diminished field luster. If were we were grading by strict Euro standards, it would be VF/XF.
What scratch? The MS66 1982 Jeff nickel in the other post has more hits than this coin.
Looked for over a minute under 20X-30X magnification (ie the enlarged photo)....still can't find a scratch.
In my experience, if PCGS says scratched, there probably is one. It may be the mark on the rim from 3-5. If the coin is rotated in bright light we may see it.
PS we could look at 70X and not see it if the scratch is parallel to the lighting.

Well, it does look a little funky, but my guess was 63B.

I have some knowledge of these and will say, that is not just soft strike, but actual rub/wear on the high points of G5 there and also possibly an attempt at cleaning in center of reverse as well as over the high points mentioned (hairline, brow ridge and nose. I would give it an AU cleaned without a doubt.

While I agree that the coin is an AU due to change of color all over the high points of the head; and the coin is cleaned giving it the unnatural color; these days, very many AU's are commercially graded as MS - especially when given a details grade as I did.

Yes, they do miss color many times IMO and especially on copper. If the others got through, more power to you. I'd have to admit, even if they were dates/varieties I needed that I would pass on this or similar brethren.

I don't see the scratch.
It has the features of a "married" Barber and Seated half/quarter having luster. For most of us, this is in our wheelhouse even if we've never owned one of these large coppers. Other than King Geo. and the Lady on the Rock having their heads pointed in a different direction, what's different?
