Silver colored IH penny (Picture Loaded)

1903 plated Indian Head. Does anyone know the history / reason behind why this was done? Zinc or silver? It is not magnetic. I don't imagine it increases the value....

I thought it upload
ed. let me try again.
Yech! Could be silver, zinc, paint. I don't know why it was done, since I wasn't there at the time. Someone must have thought it was a good idea.

Probably zinc'd. A lot of cent coins get that treatment when tossed in with 1943 steels being reprocessed.
Zero value
It doesn't appear to be paint but plated. I appreciate the input!
Could also be mercury rubbed.... certainly post mint and not of added value. Cheers, RickO
I wonder if it could have been passed as a dime
Looks like somebody passed it!
