Storing my opened Proof coins

I purchased a few Proof sets that I opened. Now, what is the best way to store these coins? Is there a holder that works best? I would like to be able to view the front and the backs of the coins. Thanks in advance.

    Capital Plastics makes great holders for coins, but they are a bit bulky and pricey. I would suggest obtaining Whitman plastic 2x2 snap-lock holders. They have clear centers on both sides, snap easily together, can be opened repeatedly without destroying them, need no staples or tape and can be stored in blue plastic Whitman boxes.

    When I started collecting proof coins in 1961, I used capital plastics holders. Still have my birthday present which was a 1961 proof set. Still looks great and the coins were well protected.

    Wizard is one of many places you can buy these. www.wizardcoinsupply.com Many styles to choose from.

    You may be able to find other colors on ebay or other sellers. I was partial to red and blue.

    One other thing about Capitol holders you should be aware of. The holders have tapered holes to try to keep them from rotating. These usually work pretty well but sometimes you have to "ream out" the hole a little with a rounded file or Xacto knife to get the coins to fit.

    TomB's suggestion of Whitman holders is excellent. I also have purchased empty slabs for some coins...They work well for protecting surfaces and handling. Cheers, RickO

    I have had good success with Eagle Holders, but they only make them in black now, which is too bad.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
