Probably, although if it really has that pinkish tint in-hand, it could indicate a long ago dip that either retoned or was AT'd, and the grader may give it a genny.
I agree with VF 30 details.
Lotta crud on that baby. Reducing that might help. I'm afraid though,, if you do, there will be remnants that will haunt that coin forever. Keep it raw.
I'd say it's 50/50. I've seen worse holder, but if you need to put it in plastic, you'd probably be better off going with one of the cheaper TPG's. Honestly though, I'd keep it raw and enjoy it as is.
I took it out to look at it again last night and there really is not a pinkish color; that must be just the way it was photographed. What I saw that made me question the authenticity of surfaces was the tiny bits of copper color peeking out on the right upright of the N and just a bit at the top crossbar of the E in "ONE" on the reverse. Overall it is an attractive looking coin and I'm not planning to get it graded since it's found a home in an old Library of Coins album now.

Yes, VF25, I could see a 30 if you can get rid of the crud.

If your question is, has this coin been worked on? The answer is "yes."

There is corrosion at ONE CENT and the wreath. I think it will get a VF details, Genuine grade.
Check out some of my 1794 Large Cents on www.coingallery.org
I do not think it will straight grade.
Thanks to all for you great insights. I was also thinking that the surfaces had been somehow manipulated and were not original.
It looks a little greasy.
You all are being way to harsh for early old copper, that will make a holder most submissions. Solid VF 30ish and don't mess with it
The only point worth noting is walkerguy's, if there is any of that pepto pink tint anywhere it is the kiss of death.
11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
I do not thinks so... has been worked on and that pinkish color indicates some kind of chemical treatment. Cheers, RickO

My first thought was recolored. Otherwise it looks vf.
