You hire a Brink's armored truck ready to deliver her to a top tier TPG.

I voted to send the truck to Newport, but actually , I would fly out to Newport Beach, and drop it off in hand, or carry it to the ANA , Baltimore, or CSNS what ever was coming up soonest
Now if it were a rare date GSA, down to Sarasota, or a rare note, down there to PMG as well
Voted PCGS and am curious to know if not PCGS why?
This is my first poll on the new forum, and I probably should have made the votes private.
I tried editing the poll, but I can not see a way to make it private.
So, if you don't mind allowing others to witness your vote please vote your choice.
No. Secrecy is the heart of numismatics. Like grading.
PCGS, but if it's time to slab because it's time to sell, I might just have someone like Doug Winter or Harry Laibstain take it on consignment raw and have them do what will maximize the sale price.

That's a no brainer.
The people you believe hold The Secret have simply immersed themselves in The Mystery.
You must subject yourself to The Alchemical Crucible of Experience if you wish to attain The Philosophers' Stone.
@Regulated's shared ruminations on William Blake indicate he agrees.
Many's the night we've gone to dinner at a major show and discussed the philosophical aspects of going a combined 9 for 38 on walk-throughs.
If the Road to Wisdom is through what sometimes feels like the Valley of the Shadow of Ignorance, surrendering to the anguish of personal evolution just IS.
@SonoraDesertRat would agree.
"He that isn't being busy being born is busy dying
@NobelPrizeCommittee would agree.
Perhaps, one fine but likely far-off day, from the cocoon of the Colonel will emerge the alt @Grasshopper.
For those with less patience, I suggest ANA Summer Seminar.
@njcoincrank would agree.
To the OP question on a Brinks destination, I think the reverse spin that an NNC VF35 certification offers will incite an auction crowd of slavering bidiot dealers to boost it over 50 money.
Simply because I like how their holder looks.

Get it in a holder of repute, first, then consider the crossover game. But if holdered, first sent to NJ. You might be done at that point.
I'm assuming if a coin like that has made it this long out of plastic, there is some question.
No doubt in my mind..... The only route to travel.....
Cheers, RickO
I would take it in person to PCGS.

Who the heck voted for ICG?

The look of the coin itself would heavily influence my decision in terms of which TPG would get the submission
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
Well, Newport is the right answer, but I'd deliver it in person at the next show I attended.
If my rich alter-ego can send a Brinks truck for personalized delivery to Newport Beach....wonder if normal me can drive the 30 minutes myself, and drop off a submission?
(I realize they don't take walk-in's....guess I better rent the truck, or at least my own Brinks uniform).
"Hey, when did Brinks start using Toyota Tacoma's?"
"Shut up and take my submission, okay?"
I tried the Alchemical Crucible of Experience.
The coin turned purple.
I would go the other way on this one. There are lots of coins out there that have been locked up or otherwise held by people who either don't know (ie heirs) or don't care (self explanatory) about slabbing.
The tone of the OP question seems like 'hey I've had this thing and now I'm ready to slab it' which doesn't imply it's been tried for plastic before.
Not all TPG's have the exact same opinion on what determines market acceptability. I would need to see at least a picture of the coin.
I know me. I'd send it to the Colonel first, no matter how painful the truth.
Practice makes perfect & nobody is perfect. So, practice being nobody and be perfect !
I don't want it sell it yet. It's not going to any darn TPG. Better to stay a mystery that increase the pop by 1.
Why not? Then you can sell it for double market value on TV. Just imagine the hype: "A coin Warren Buffet would be proud to own but we're going to make it available just for you".
okay, okay, I take it back
great idea.
Then lets have them slab some Memorial cents, same promo, but cheaper.
Only $50 each
