Last Quarterly Special Varieties. 1/2 Off. 4 New Top Pops Added to My Set
My order was logged in on June 23rd and True Views Popped up Yesterday. First coin is the 1943 s Trumpet Tail and joined 4 others for the Top Pop, This coin was found on Ebay already in a MS 66 Holder Unattributed,

Second coin is the 1943 S 503 and this is another coin I saw on ebay in MS 66+ and looked at for four days with a buy it now of 145. I figured I needed a coin to fill the Regular slot so if I was wrong it would still be ok. I was really surprised when I got the coin In hand. It is a New Top pop by itself.

Third Coin was found off Ebay in a Anacs Holder MS 64 and is the 1949 D OMM MS 66 and Joined one other coin for Top Pop.

Fourth Coin was Also found in a Anacs MS 64 Holder WITH THE VARIETY on the label D/D 502 Picked up for 28 bucks. When this coin was found there was only 1 other coin graded a MS 65, Just before the end of June, 3 more were found and mine has Joined the other MS 65 Top Pop.

All four can be viewed under Coin Facts.
I think this Year will be as good as last year when it comes to finding these Varieties Raw. All Four coins got put in the Old retro Doily Labels. Anyone building a Washington Quarter Set that needs any help with the Varieties just pm me. I have had a few Mentors on this site that got me to focus on One Series.
Thank you to all those who have sent me on a Great Journey.....I love Washington Quarters.....................................Enjoy

But your right I am glad that I stuck it out and realize our host makes a mistake or two every once in a while.
Thanks everyone for the Nice Comments and Rich some of these are rare now but I am learning from talking to the rest of the collectors Varieties are no longer safe unless you have a 67+ The 61 d/d had a pop of one a month ago and now there is 5 so others are finding them.
I am still amazed that if you know what your looking for it is still possible to find many of these Raw or Unattributed. And Like Dimeman it's a lot more fun to make most of these varieties yourself when building a Set....Time to open the next few Pages on these Books.........
Enjoy Tom

Hi Tom,
I think the 1961-D/D FS-502 had a population of 3 early this year, which included the MS-64 I had graded late in 2016 and the MS-65 I had graded in January 2017. There are 4 in the pop report now, which would include your recently graded MS-65. So, they aren't showing up as quickly as it sounds. It is possible you were looking at the FS-501, which has 2 in the pop report (interestingly, both are pictured on CoinFacts and they are clearly from different reverse dies as the mintmarks are in significantly different places!)
When I was deciding on advertising in the 5th edition, Volume 2 of the CPG, Whitman gave me an idea of how many CPG books they sold. It was a big number. Based on that, for most of the varieties in the book, there are very few coins and a huge number of people looking for them. In other words, it isn't easy to find a rare variety.
