Opinions on collector software, can NGC + PCGS be scanned?

In an effort to finally get an inventory (wife is really pushing for a list which does make me nervous) I'm looking for leads on convenient software that members have found helpful and easy. Cost?

I've really liked Collectors Assistant by carlisledevelopment.com. Pricey, but the program is robust, flexible, has built-in pricing and the support is outstanding.
There are certainly cheaper alternatives, however.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
How about the PCGS Registry inventory?
You can export it to a .csv file.
I haven't tried it but I would think you could take the .csv and then get creative in Excel if needed.
It's also free.

I have used Trove Software "Coin Elite" for many years and it does everything needed. I have never found one better and the support is as good as it gets.
I used Coin Elite for years... then I retired and moved from the west coast to the east coast.... bought several new computers and many coins... never updated and now have no system. It was a great program. Cheers, RickO

PCGS Set Registry Inventory feature is easy to use and great for a certified collection.
I've also included many of my better raw coins in my PCGS Registry inventory.
Add all the pertinent info you want, buy price, notes, pics....assign your own grade and you'll even get a price guide value, for what it's worth.

Another option is the Heritage "My Collection" feature. It has the advantage of spitting out a wholesale AND retail value (based on Numismedia), and taking any certified coins....maybe even raw?
It has some issue with some varieties and moderns....but it works.
Thanks guys for the leads and I'll limit my research to those mentioned. I've always been lazy (I'm 68 and have never balanced a checkbook) and found it's been much easier to piggyback onto the results of those that have done the spadework and have used it.
Now that I've gotten a lot of my raw coins graded my wish list is for software that I could simply scan the barcodes to generate a list that can have images added.
TommyType, I am familiar with Heritage's program that keep track of coins and currency that I've purchased from them but does Heritage then have access to all the added info of my inventory? I was taken back when I first looked at the Heritage Collection and that they had keep all the information (short of images on the earliest purchases).
I would presume they would have access to whatever you enter into the system. Their site, their data. Guess some would consider that an issue. But I figure they have more important things to do than care about my collection.
At one time, I thought it would be an advantage. Just supply The Wife with the username/password, and Heritage phone number, and they would automatically know what I had if she wanted to sell through them. (Now, I'm not so sure that is the best route for my level of collection...)
Doing a little research and discovered a program called Exact Change by Wild Man Software.
Though I haven't used it, a review of it's features is very promising!
On their website they have a handy chart which lists and compares several coin inventory software programs.
Certainly worth looking into!
