Nice size show... To those who attend, please provide a show report....Cheers, RickO
I went to the show this morning. It had most of the usual suspects you'd expect to see at a Bellaire, TX show, but maybe a few less. The VFW hall it was held in was not very inviting from the outside, but was nice enough once you got in. The lower ceilings in this venue gave it a cozier feeling overall.
As a world coin collector there is often limited options at these shows. I was able to find one coin I wanted, so this show was a little better than the last few from that regard.
Several dealers commented that they couldn't price Morgans low enough to sell them. I saw a lot of stuff under greysheet bid going unsold.
I found that there was a decent supply of competitively priced bullion. I picked up a Statue of LIberty 3 piece commem. UNC set for a little under spot and a few maria theresa thaler restrikes a little over spot.

Show Recap!!! I am the Show Chairman for this show and will try to give you an accurate recap of the show. We sold right at 40 tables and had an attendance of 328. It was very hot and humid, but the room was cool and very comfortable. We had 6 unsold tables as some dealers that usually attend were off for the holiday weekend or had health issues. Activity was fairly good, with several dealers having exceptional sales. One dealer said his sales were very low, but he carries pretty much middle average material. Hi end coins sold pretty well and slabs seemed to sell even though the overall market is pretty flat. Currency seemed to be popular, with some significant sales of world currency. One dealer sold o large collection of Texas trade tokens for several thousand dollars. I know of several large transactions (10K++), not bullion. I think the bullion guys did ok, but not great. Overall, this show was pretty much what you would expect for this time of year. I know my October 6-8 show will be a sellout and I will have a waiting list. With the Bellaire Civic Center unavailable until mid to late 2019, we will stay at this location. If you have any questions, let me know. regards, Ed
