"The maximum number of 1931-D double eagles distributed was 540 coins of which it is estimated that just 125 remain."
Is the coin part of this theft?

A lot of stolen stuff just has nowhere to hide, especially large items like vehicles, how do you fence something that is high on the radar in the internet age?
It looks like a rare Colonial is added to the list of lost/stolen items:

From Doug Davis: Colonial Missing/Stolen
A 1788 Massachusetts Colonial Ryder 12-H variety has been reported missing/stolen. The coin was shipped via Ebay's international shipping program and cleared New York customs.
I had a group of five coins worth about $900 go missing a few months ago, including a MA Colonial and finally got contacts from a postal inspector who sent out a broadcast to pawn shops and coin dealers.
It seems like it never ends...........................................

Great....another European $20 hitting the market.
Looks like a real gem in the B&W photo being distributed.

Andy,
Where can you find the photo of the coin? Did I miss it?
Was he an ex-ANA employee? Is he moving up the ladder?
