Conder101 did post many years ago something to the effect that he was not fond of third party grading, yet was the main expert in the various brands of TPG holders and in classification of their holder types.
I was very surprised at the contradiction, kind of like the US having a leased military based located in the "Cold War" enemy country of Cuba. (Cuba could probably make some good money selling the uncashed rent checks from the US, but that would be a capitalist kind of thing to do.)

After Mark's bamming he worked out a deal with me to sell some coins on Heritage (before he started working there).
It was an excellent fee structure and I was very happy with the results.
Before his bamming, I always respected Mark's contributions here. He was fair and knowledgeable.
Once about 10 years ago, a newbie posted an eBay auction he won that was just a pile of crap.
It was one that had a lot of pictures with captions explaining how great each coin was - like an MS $2.50 Liberty and was clearly XF. Which everyone here told the newbie he got ripped off.
Mark got drawn in to negotiate a return with the eBay seller.
I've never had a problem with Mark. From what I've seen, he's always been very knowledgable, honest and generous with his advice. I don't remember any issues at all for the threads I was on.

Not that he wasn't a smart guy. It was the way he went about disagreeing. It was very argumentative and demeaning. I had nothing personally against him. I'll put it to you this way, Feld is/was the polar opposite of bear, who everyone liked. If you wanted to feel good, you read a post by bear. If you wanted to get worked up, you looked for a post from Feld.

Back in the early days here, Mark was always helping someone. It didn't matter who you were. Mark and several other members helped take down bad listings on ebay. In some cases when the seller would not remove the listing, Mark would buy the coin and tell the seller where to stick it. To many he was on top of the good guy list.
Conder101 was the go to guy on early copper. Between his library and his assume computer skills, he could answer with some of the best information out there. He didn't care to own coins in slabs because of what he collected. He is still active over on CT.

I had no problem with Mark or Conder in those early days. I learned from them. I absorbed their knowledge.
Sharp, abrasive opinions can only go so far in this place, and some tails got salted. IMHOP they are both great persons.
