I can be very abrasive. However, I don't have a grudge with anyone on any forum I post on.

Oh, I agree that YOU aren't holding the grudge. In fact, after 1400 "disagrees", I'm thinking you've handled it better than MOST of us would. :)

It's the person(s) who spent extra time out of their day to actually generate 1400 disagrees who has a grudge problem....

These kind of threads get more activity than talk about coins ?

Agree. One of them knows computers and did the "major" deed. LOL. One night I had say 700 + and the next morning there were 1.5K! I thought it was funny. Anyway, sure to be a CU record.

I think I deserved the ones I got from other posters. "Props" to those who took the time to explain what they disagreed with.

The last one of my two minions to be banned here changed his name and joined CT. He started the same nonsense and abuse over there and got a great big SMACK DOWN today from a moderator...LOL.

I am active on cointalk, and missed it. Was it a new thread or what?

I agree. Post a new discussion. I'm working on two but need to photo the coins. :(

...wait a second...this all happened before my time, but are you guys saying that the guy who wrote the OG "TPG Slab History" book said here on CU that TPG slabs are worthless? Doesn't add up, but it's not math so what the hell do I know ;)

Conder101 did post many years ago something to the effect that he was not fond of third party grading, yet was the main expert in the various brands of TPG holders and in classification of their holder types.

I was very surprised at the contradiction, kind of like the US having a leased military based located in the "Cold War" enemy country of Cuba. (Cuba could probably make some good money selling the uncashed rent checks from the US, but that would be a capitalist kind of thing to do.)

I've never had a problem with Mark. From what I've seen, he's always been very knowledgable, honest and generous with his advice. I don't remember any issues at all for the threads I was on.

I like the guy and respect his knowledge but there is a reason he was called "The Great Feldini".

Last Friday was a great day at the office. Anyone ever go back to look at old threads to pull up "disagreements" in order to see the "BANNED" sign @ a former member?

    Which one were you? :D

Mark did pretty much know it all. Those that listened usually learned something.

Not that he wasn't a smart guy. It was the way he went about disagreeing. It was very argumentative and demeaning. I had nothing personally against him. I can't even remember if we ever argued, but knowing me, we probably did. It just seemed he argued with everyone on everything. I really can't remember very many people who have been banned except him, bongo bongo, and maybe one or two other guys.

I'll put it to you this way, Feld is/was the polar opposite of bear, who everyone liked. If you wanted to feel good, you read a post by bear. If you wanted to get worked up, you looked for a post from Feld.

someone asked why I hit disagree and I just explained. I don't think it's right to talk about someone who can't respond so I'll end it there.

It would be tough for anyone to live up to Bear. He had an awesome, old fashioned way of telling a story.

I had no problem with Mark or Conder in those early days. I learned from them. I absorbed their knowledge.

Sharp, abrasive opinions can only go so far in this place, and some tails got salted. IMHOP they are both great persons.

At least Mark and Conder aren't very far. They are just across the street.

  • ldhairldhair Posts: 7,348 ✭✭✭✭✭

Back in the early days here, Mark was always helping someone. It didn't matter who you were. Mark and several other members helped take down bad listings on ebay. In some cases when the seller would not remove the listing, Mark would buy the coin and tell the seller where to stick it. To many he was on top of the good guy list.

Conder101 was the go to guy on early copper. Between his library and his assume computer skills, he could answer with some of the best information out there. He didn't care to own coins in slabs because of what he collected. He is still active over on CT.

OK, how is this. One of the subjects of this thread said a moderator lied on another Internet forum. He was warned again to straighten out.

Anyway, just as I promised you, I posted a thread about coins on CU. I'd like to know what you and others think about corrosion removal. So far I have not seen you on it.
