I was watching this one on ebay for awhile, and finally made an offer that I thought was fair. Eisenhower PL's are scarce.
Thought this had a certain "neat" factor, and just couldn't pass it up!

Pretty cool, I can't say I have seen an Ike that was PL before.

PL IKE = PLIKE?
I have a 76d that has almost DMPL mirrors and NGC wouldn't PL it. I know they have slabbed a 76d as PL before. This is the second I've seen and didn't know anacs would PL them. So that's 3 I know of and they're all 76d!

They whiffed on that one; it is PL IMO, and a very nice one!
@CascadeChris Must have been graded on a Friday at 4:47pm.
More likely at 9:02 AM Monday morning after Superbowl Sunday.

I have a '76 D as well, but NGC also denied the PL Designation.

"PL" coin is on the left, non PL(just shiny) on the right.
I want to do a straight-forward shot of this coin tonight.
I think what holds this coin back from a PL designation, is especially on the reverse a hazy toning around the periphery.

Most unfortunate...I was strongly considering on sending my ANACS PL IKE to NGC to be slabbed in their holder. Now, I'm leaning towards just leaving it in the ANACS slab after seeing what you, and CascadeChris experienced...doesn't make sense as both your examples appear PL- not even a star? Not sure if toning is the issue with yours Bodin as Cascade's is blast white PL.
Could it be NGC stopped designating these as PL? I'm curious now when the (3) that are in the census were designated? I guess that would take a phone call I suppose. Sure would like to see what a graded NGC PL IKE is supposed to look like...
What does it take to get PL designation?
Is seeing a reflection at 6 inches more important than multiple depth when looking in field on obverse in front of nose (like see nose reflection 3 times)
