    Is that in their guarantee?

@Goldbully did not say that, Legend said that..........

While a few people are jealous or do not like CAC, one thing CAC guarantees you won’t get is a doctored coin.

All I have seen so far and when I check a cert number at cac or the last explanation on cac website I.have seen is green meets their standards, and gold exceeds their standards for the assigned grade. Every thread I see around here same people telling us different.. Either what they think and/or what they want it to mean and probably to their benefit. My opinion and what I constantly observe here.

Agree, and they bought a mistake from me once. Not doctored though. Serious where on their information website does cac guarantee you won't get a doctored coin? Not semantics imo, I know they will make good if proven as you say. Me thinks someone hypes too much blabber.

Those who want CAC to grade A coins separately from B coins would also like a 500 point grading system! >:):o

It's can be easy to tell the A coins from the B coins. Since Legend only offers A coins, one approach is to look for coins with a similar look to the ones they offer.

Who at Legend decides the coin is an A or a B?

I mosty deal with George. If a coin excites him it generally excites me. I've never heard him say this is A or a B coin. It will be more like this coin is all there or this coin is not for you. George is easy to read and after 10 minutes of looking at coins you get the feel for the cream

    Laura rates coins as follows:

    X - forget it
    8 - nah
    8+ - commercial quality
    9 - I like it
    9+ - superior coin
    9++ - must buy

They have effectively advertised that they prefer bright, shiny gold compared to the "dirty" original stuff and untoned cam/dcam (read as dipped) 19th/20th century proof coins, so I guess it depends on what one considers an "A" coin. I'm not knocking them, I am trying to be realistic. If they limited themselves to "A" coins only, I doubt it would maintain a decent sized inventory at competitive prices.

I think you are very mistaken. Legend prefers originally toned WOW coins. They do exist.

Probably a 10 is reserved for ultra rarities, like Simpson's unique seated half dime, etc.

The auction was probably the weakest in 20+ years.

Really? Everything I bid on went for megabucks given what they were.

I repeat. When do I get to participate in this "down market?"

I know! When I get ready to sell my collection. :s

    It's a not a down market for the Top 1%. It's a down market for the 99%. ;)

Do you own any slabs? Have you sent any coins to CAC? you are making a strong supposition from a self-confessed very, very new collector. o:)
