When our host removes a post are we notified or does it just disappear?

Just disappears (realized after you've spent a bunch of time looking for it).

When they remove a post they sometimes remove the poster.

Assume it was the thread comparing certification companies? Don't think they take much joy in watching that time and time again.

I should think you would get a warning to clean up your act first. What do you think @FellintoOblivion?
I got a warning on another site once for informing a non-collector female that she should get a life, respect the opinions of knowledgeable older collectors who were trying to help her, and to take a hammer and screwdriver to a Lincoln cent to learn what PMD looked like. She did not take the advice. Nothing like a woman scorned...LOL. Shortly after, they gave her a week "vacation." When she tried to log on again under a different name, she was banned for good! Oblivion is a lonely place to be; yet some misguided souls belong there.
It disappears. But, if someone along the way quoted the earlier posts, those remain, even if the member was bammed and all their posts get removed.
@insider2 someone posted a spam thread promoting a company to my discussion, then another marked me as abusing?
how do you get marked a abuse mark when someone else spams you or you just answer a question another person asked?
Its a cruel world sometime. I don't mark bad stuff to anyone you don't like something, move along.

They deleted the civil exchange between TDN and myself.
Did they inform either of you? I've decided to make copies of the things I post that may be controversial so I can learn from my posting mistakes. I would cry if I got banned from CU. So much to learn here, so little time.
No, but there wasn't anything wrong or incendiary with either of our posts. My guess is that our host, for its own reason, preferred to not allow it. I respect that and will not summarize or reintroduce the substance of the deleted comments, so it limits the amount I am able to say.
When you are invited into someone's house, it is best to not degrade the drapes. But it may be alright to discuss our hosts grading criteria. PCGS is in the coin grading business and grading questions should not be off base.

I'm not sure of the specific exchange you're referring to, but we may sometimes delete an entire thread, even if it contains civil discourse, if the thread's topic violates any forum rules. If the thread you're referring to is what I think it is, it was clearly violative. We don't tolerate the denigration in that thread's OP, no matter to whom it is directed.
When there is a post or topic that violates forum rules, we may or may not warn prior to deletion.
Remembering where I am helps me understand that _ _ _ _ happens all around me even when I don't know it.

Not sure if any of my posts have ever been deleted.
Usually, they're printed out and framed and hung in prominent places.

Answered from the horse's mouth. Thanks. Hopefully, if I ever break the rules, I'll get a second chance before being banned. As you must know, this is the best online forum ever! Does sucking-up break the rules?

@Insider2 - when we have banned any users lately, they have all been warned (at least) once. The ban hammer doesn't usually fall swiftly.

I think we are thinking of different threads. I will PM you though. I don't think any rules were violated, but if I did something wrong, I would appreciate if you would respond to my PM to let me know so I can avoid doing so in the future.
