New DDO Varieties
I am hoping someone will be able to help me with 2 varieties I just found. The first one is a 1956 Proof Quarter that seems to be a strong DDO, however, I do not see any records of a DDO for the 1956 Proof Quarter on any of the major variety websites. The same goes for the second coin which is a 1955 Proof Franklin which came from the same proof set that I found a 1955 DDO & DDR FS-103/801 penny. It has doubling on all of the letters in “Liberty” – the most notable being the “R”. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The '55 'may' be doubled on the R..... the '56 looks like machine doubling to me... this is judged from the photo's and there is a lot of glare there.... so could be wrong on both... Cheers, RickO
According to variety vista, there are 11 proof 1956 Washington quarter DDO's and 4 proof 1955 Franklin half DDO's. Not all of them are pictured, but most if not all will be described on that website.
Hope this helps.

Adding to the above post: 11 different varieties of the quarter and 4 different varieties of the half.

@CoinsAndMoreCoins...Just because I do not agree with your evaluation of a picture, does not mean that my 'in hand' searches overlook anything...
Cheers, RickO
Thank you for all the responses. I will have to take some more pictures to show all the letters with doubling as well as the die marks on the coins. I have been dealing with PCGS and NGC with Varieties for a long time so I am positive that these are not machine doubling. I may need to upgrade my camera as the camera does not do these coins justice. I noticed the 1956 without a coin loupe as I was not aware of any 1956 DDOs prior to this. I will be sure to post more pictures when I get some spare time. I appreciate all the help!
NIce finds....I am not sure which DDOs they are--- but they are definitely doubled dies.
